PokéSquad Privacy Policy

Discord Bot

The short version: PokéSquad only stores data that is strictly necessary to operate the game (Discord IDs and in-game stats). We do not sell, share, or monetise your data in any way.

1. Who We Are

PokéSquad is a fan-made Discord bot created for entertainment purposes. It is not affiliated with Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company. "We" / "our" refers to the developers and operators of the PokéSquad bot.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to operate the bot's features. No message content is stored unless explicitly shown below.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the bot's gaming features (spawns, missions, economy, leaderboards).
To enforce cooldowns, prevent abuse, and maintain fair gameplay.
To display your stats and profile to you and other users in your server.

We do not:

Sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for any commercial purpose.
Use your data for advertising or profiling.
Read, store, or analyse the content of your messages.

4. Data Storage & Security

All data is stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database (Supabase), located in the ap-southeast-1 (Singapore) AWS region. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow reasonable industry practices to protect stored data, but no system is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

Data is retained for as long as a server has PokéSquad active, or until you request deletion. Servers that remove PokéSquad may have their guild-level configuration cleared during periodic maintenance.

6. Your Rights

You may request at any time:

Access — a copy of the data stored for your Discord User ID.
Deletion — removal of all personal data associated with your Discord User ID.
Correction — correction of inaccurate data (where technically feasible).

To exercise these rights, open an issue on our GitHub repository or contact us via our support Discord server. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

PokéSquad is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used PokéSquad, please contact us so we can delete their data.

8. Third-Party Services

PokéSquad relies on the following third-party services:

Discord — the platform the bot operates on.
Supabase — managed PostgreSQL database hosting.
Render — bot process hosting.
PokéAPI — public Pokémon data API (no personal data sent).

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of PokéSquad after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
